The short answer: $5,000 to $100,000+, against $100 a month

A professional matchmaker in the US costs from about $5,000 for a basic local service to $100,000 or more for an elite national search. Tawkify’s pricing guide, updated September 30, 2026, puts budget matchmaking at $5,000 to $15,000, mid-range at $15,000 to $50,000 and high-end at $50,000 to $100,000+. Ultra-exclusive services run higher still.

At the other end of the market, MillionaireMatch Premium was listed at $100 for one month, $240 for three months or $390 for six months on the web upgrade flow on September 30, 2026, in US dollars. Prices vary by platform (web or app store), plan length, promotion and account state; the price that applies to you is shown at checkout.

The gap between those two figures is the whole question. A matchmaker sells labor and access; a dating site sells software. Whether the matchmaker is worth 150 times the price depends on which of those you actually need.

Business Insider reported on August 24, 2018 that a Miami matchmaking agency charged $15,000 for a six-month membership, about $2,500 a month, for one or two promised introductions a month in a single city. The same report noted a $75,000 VIP tier for a multi-city search.

The club behind Bravo’s The Millionaire Matchmaker lists Bronze at $45,000, Silver at $65,000, Gold at $85,000 and Platinum at $120,000 on its own membership application form, read October 1, 2026, with full payment upfront by wire transfer and no refunds. (The club and the TV show are a separate business from MillionaireMatch; the identity guide untangles the names.)

A matchmaker profiled by Business Insider on September 27, 2026 said most of her clients pay $100,000 to $150,000, and the most specific ones $250,000. These are the dated figures; any undated “average cost” table is quoting one of them secondhand.

What the fee buys at each level

Matchmaking, defined

A matchmaking service employs a human who interviews you, vets candidates, introduces you and debriefs you after each date. A dating site gives you the database and the filters and leaves that work to you. The price difference is the labor.

At $5,000 to $15,000 you get a local database search, a set number of introductions and light screening. At $15,000 to $50,000 the search widens, the vetting deepens and a dedicated matchmaker manages your calendar. At $50,000 to $100,000+ the agency recruits nationally or internationally, runs background checks and wraps the search in coaching and discretion.

Tawkify’s guide ties the top band to “national or international searches, extensive vetting, and white-glove service”. The same logic explains why a dating site costs $100: the platform does none of that work. MillionaireMatch’s own structure shows it. The member area counted 39 Premium privileges on September 30, 2026, and they are product features, not personal services: unlimited messaging, advanced filters, photo albums, privacy controls.

When a dating site is enough

A dating site is enough when you have the time and the judgment to screen people yourself. You build the profile, read the candidates, message the ones who fit and meet them. If you can tell a serious profile from a thin one, and you are not so private that a public-ish profile is a problem, the $100 subscription does the job.

MillionaireMatch is built for exactly that reader. Registration is free from age 20, a Standard member can reply to a Premium member’s messages for free, and Premium removes the messaging gate and adds the income and net worth filters. The MillionaireMatch cost page has the full price picture, and the comparison with other vetted apps shows where it sits in the market.

The honest test: if your bottleneck is “I cannot find enough suitable people”, a category dating site solves it. If your bottleneck is “I do not have the time or the trust to sort strangers”, that is what the $15,000-plus agencies sell.

When a matchmaker earns the fee

A matchmaker earns the fee when your time is worth more than the search, when your privacy rules out a public profile, or when you have genuinely failed to find the person on your own. Executives who cannot spend evenings swiping, public figures who cannot be seen on an app, and people who have run every filter and still come up empty are the agency’s real clients.

MillionaireMatch has its own version of that step up. The privileges panel, read September 30, 2026, lists a Matchmaking Service among the 56 Chairman privileges, described as a personal, results-driven matchmaking service with a private support group. Chairman was $2,990 a month on the web upgrade flow on September 30, 2026, and its application dialog said on September 20, 2026 that access is by invitation only during a limited testing phase. It sits between the $100 dating site and the $45,000 agency, and it is gated.

The middle ground: a dating site first, a matchmaker later

The sensible order for most people is to start on the site and only call an agency if the site fails. A month of Premium at $100 tells you whether the people you want are on the market at all. If they are and you are not matching, the problem is your profile or your approach, and a matchmaker’s coaching is the fix. If they are not, an agency’s private recruiting is the fix.

Either way, the site’s free Standard account costs nothing to test: a full profile, 26 public and 26 private photos, search by country and state, and free replies to Premium members. You find out whether your bottleneck is the pool, the filters or the time before you spend agency money.

In short US matchmakers run $5,000 to $100,000+ with dated examples at $15,000, $45,000 and $250,000; MillionaireMatch Premium is $100 a month, and the site is enough when you can screen matches yourself.
